Americans are pictured as hook-nosed monsters. The South Korean regime is allowing its people to become mongrelized. They are allowed to marry foreigners, even blacks. This is from the internal propaganda of North Korea. So it appears that the glue which holds the regime together is not Communist ideology after all.

This is all detailed in a new book by B.R. Myers, THE CLEANEST RACE: HOW THE NORTH KOREANS SEE THEMSELVES AND WHY IT MATTERS. Christopher Hitchens, the Trotskyoid turned–surprise, surprise–Neocon, is shocked that the regime is not actually ‘Stalinist’ in the Western sense. His review in SLATE of the Myers book is head-lined “Kim Jong-il’s regime is even weirder and more despicable than you thought.” Really?

Hitchens, who once made money writing about North Korea as the last Communist state, now locates its regime on the political Right; in his words, “the very extreme & pathological right.” He further writes: “(the Kim Jong-il system) is based on a totalitarian ‘military first’ mobilization, is maintained by slave labor, and instills an ideology of the most unapologetic racism and xenophobia.” To illustrate his point, Hitchens cites the example of the black Cuban diplomat who was almost lynched when he tried to show his family the sights of Pyongyang, the North Korean capital.

Richard Hoste, in his review of the same book for THE OCCIDENTAL QUARTERLY, does a better job of delving into the essence of what is North Korea.

Hoste writes: “It’s always seemed to me that if human beings were naturally more inclined to buy into a blood based nationalism than some kind of universalistic ideology that this would be strong evidence that racial loyalty had a genetic basis. The secret to the behavior and survival of the North Korean regime can be found in its ideology, one which not only ignores Marxist-Leninist orthodoxy but directly contradicts it.”

None of this would be strange to the World War II generation. The war against Japan in the Pacific theatre was a racial war. The propaganda on the American side was openly racist. Few prisoners were taken by either side after the Japanese conquest of the Philippines. The prize in the war was China.

North Korea’s official party daily last year complained about South Korea welcoming a half-Korean American soccer player: “Mono-ethnicity is something that our nation and no other on earth can pride itself on. There is no suppressing the nation’s shame and anger at the talk of a ‘multi-ethnic, multi-racial’ society which would dilute even the bloodline of our people.”

Our own country is going down the tubes because our youth are being force-fed the malevolent fictions of a Howard Zinn.
